Nathan Butler, DVM
Dr. Nathan Butler is a lifelong resident of Knoxville, TN. He grew up in Hardin Valley, graduated from Karns High School, holds a bachelor degree in animal science from the University of Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. His veterinary interests include both medicine and surgery of both small and large animals. He is married to his wife Katie and has 2 children along with 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 goats, and a herd of beef cattle.
Kate Goldin, DVM
Dr. Kate Goldin was born and raised in Herndon, VA. She went to Vanderbilt University on a soccer scholarship for under graduate school where she received a bachelors in Biology and Spanish. She then went to University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2019. Dr. Goldin enjoys working with both large and small animals. She enjoys coaching soccer for a local soccer program in her time out of the clinic, as well as taking care of her own rescue dog Chopper.
Sam Wicker, DVM
Dr. Sam was raised in New Market, TN, received his bachelors degree in animal science from the University of Tennessee, and graduated from UT College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. After practicing as a large animal ambulatory vet in the northeast and at a small animal emergency practice in Buffalo, NY, he returned to Tennessee and joined us at Butler Vet Services in 2020. When not in the clinic, he enjoys spending time hiking, trail riding, and working with his family's beef cows.
Brandy Prosise, LVMT
Brandy graduated in 2008 from LMU making her a Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician. She has worked with Dr. Butler for many years. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan and their daughter Kayden. When Brandy isn't at the office she enjoys hunting with Ryan and Kayden, and hanging out at home with her dogs Beauford, and Doc.
Morgan began working at BVS in 2018 after graduating from UT with as BS in animal science. She is currently in her 3rd year of veterinary school at the University of Tennessee.
Megan was born and raised in the Karns community. She has worked with animals since she was 15 years old. She is currently an undergraduate at UTK majoring in Animal Science, with the hopes of one day attending Vet School. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her two dogs Finn and Cali, hiking, and visiting with friends and family.
McKenzie is from Columbia TN. She graduated from UTK majoring in Animal Science with a minor in Biology. She is currently in Veterinary school at UT. In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports, bowling, spending summer days at the lake and spending time with her 4 dogs and 2 cats.
Connor recently moved to Knoxville from Nashville to pursue a degree in Animal Science. He has graduated with a bachelors degree and will begin veterinary school at UT in the fall of 2020. In his free time he enjoys boxing and playing soccer. Connor also enjoys spending a lot of time with his dogs, Morty and Beau.
Dakota was born and raised in Anderson County, and graduated from Clinton High School. She has always worked on the human medicine side, but recently switched to animals. When she is not working, you will find her spending time with Ricky, Christopher, and their toddler Levi, hanging out at the lake, with their 4 dogs Winston, Bella, Reece and Peyton or cheering on the Tennessee Vols!
Hailey graduated from Loudon High School in 2016. She is currently attending the University of Tennessee at Martin for Agriculture Business Management. When she is not at work, she can be found spending time with her boyfriend, Jacob or hanging out with friends at the dirt track. Hailey has one cat, that she loves, named Penny.
Marshall is the famous banjo player at the office! He graduated from Hardin Valley Academy in 2018 and
is a pre-vet student at UT Knoxville. He is a jack of all trades. In his free time, he enjoys playing in his
bluegrass band Knuckleheaded Mules, being outdoors, working on his family’s cattle farm, and spending
time with his three dogs.
Brooke is from Jonesville, VA. Having grown up on a farm, she has a deep love for large animal
medicine. In 2017 she graduated with a B.S. in psychology and a biology minor. She is now
in her last year at Purdue University to become a veterinary technician. In her free time she enjoys
cooking, crafting, and traveling with her husband, Cody.
Grayson is still in school. He is our Lead Volunteer at the clinic. He helps around the office with the animals, assisting the staff when they need help, and keeping the kennels clean. In his spare time he enjoys spending time at the lake with his family, and their dog Chloe.
